To the Editor:

Re “Microsoft, Long Seen as Villain, Tries On Role as Moral Leader” (Business Day, May 8):

As corporate leaders strive to address topics from an ethical perspective, it would be constructive to consider corporate taxes.

Rather than speaking in terms of legality, corporate leaders can explain what’s right about company tax positions and arrangements, and how those decisions square with their organization’s values.

The movement toward ethically informed discussions would be more complete by including corporate taxes.

EDWARD ABAHOONIE, SPARKILL, N.Y.

FY Society explores American society with original content and analysis, as well as through the lens of curated news and articles.

We are simply trying to tell a story. Our story, the story of America past and present–who we are and how we got here, and perhaps more importantly: where we are going. We have a whole lot more in store, however, so please consider helping us in that effort by visiting the FY Store, or with a donation via Patreon.
